Searching through Java Archive (JAR) files

RSS
Java developers often need to search through JAR files. Fortunately since FileLocator Pro can search through ZIP files it can also search through JAR files.

To enable JAR searching:

1. Open the Configuration settings dialog

2. Find the Extension settings group

3. Find the ZIP settings entry

4. Make sure JAR is listed in the 'File types' list

5. Close the Configuration settings dialog

6. Go to the 'Compressed Files' tab and check the ZIP check box.

FileLocator Pro will now search within the contents of JAR files.

Additional Information

Knud van Eeden has some great documentation for Java developers who wish to search their jar and class files.
