How do I set the default Look In location for FileLocator Pro

By default FileLocator Pro will open with the location set to that of the last search. If, instead, you want FileLocator Pro to always launch with the same default Look In location that's also possible:

Specify the default location in a short-cut

1. Create a short-cut to the FileLocator Pro executable 2. Modify the short-cut to specify the default location, e.g. "C:\Program Files\Mythicsoft\FileLocator Pro\FileLocatorPro.exe" -d "C:\My\Default\Location"

Now when you double-click on the short-cut FileLocator Pro will open with your default location already specified.

Details of all the FileLocator Pro command line switches can be found here: http://www.mythicsoft.com/filelocatorpro/help/commandline.htm

Specify the default location in a saved criteria file

1. Open FileLocator Pro and enter your default criteria 2. Save the criteria in a SRF file using the File->Save Criteria menu option 3. Make sure 'Associate with SRF file' is checked in the Shell Integration configuration options

Now when you double-click on the SRF file FileLocator Pro will open with your default critiera specified.
