32-bit FileLocator Pro produces inconsistent results on 64-bit Windows

 

The 32-bit version of FileLocator Pro will generally run fine on a 64-bit version of Windows but there are a few things to be aware of.

File System Redirector

32-bit applications run under what is called WOW64. WOW64 presents a different system32 folder to 32-bit applications than the folder seen in Explorer, e.g. c:\Windows\System32. This is done through something called File System Redirection.

Therefore when 32-bit FileLocator Pro searches the system32 folder on 64-bit Windows it is actually searching a folder called SysWOW64 and this will be different than the actual system32 folder. For more information:

Explorer Shell Extensions

32-bit FileLocator Pro will not appear on the Explorer right-click context menu. For more information see:
